Festivals, Conferences and Fundraisers

Benefit from decades of experience with event sites, mobile applications and ticketing

When you produce an event, everything is on the line. You want to work with top people. You want the best team you can put together, people who have been through it before and who can think on their feet. It takes a certain personality type to thrive in that environment. We do.

Call us crazy but we love being involved with events. It gets our blood flowing. There’s something about having a deadline you simply can’t miss. We understand that reality, and we can not only deliver what you need on the digital side, but we will be part of your team.

Guiding a growing organization to the next level

New Orleans Entrepreneur Week, produced by The Idea Village, is unique in North America. Organizations from every continent turn to them as a model of how to use entrepreneurship as a driver to reboot the economies of cities. In just 7 years it has grown to serve over 10,000 attendees annually.

Linking Arts initially came on board to simply update a problematic temporary homepage, and in the time since have delivered two websites, significantly reorganized their Salesforce implementation, found an on-site registration partner, and are currently working on complete integration of all 3 systems. Heck, we even re-networked the office. We’re proud to be their partner at critical time in the organization’s growth.

A site, a clue management system, ratings features and a dashboard to view data

Jayson Wechter’s San Francisco Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt takes place on the night of the Chinese New Year Parade. It’s been a hugely popular event since the 1990s, and we’ve been working with them since 2000 (we tend to keep clients).

It started out as a simple brochure site for an annual 2000-person treasure hunt fundraiser. Over the years it transformed into a system to track clues and their popularity, as well as survey data.

In addition, we built a geo-location-enabled iOS app that integrated with photo contests, and implemented their Facebook, Twitter, Yelp and even Google Ads campaigns. With the help of Eastwind Associates we’ve kept things running for a decade and a half.

See how Linking Arts implemented their SEO strategy.

A historic online guide to Independent Jewish Film, a new level for a landmark festival

For their 20th anniversary, the San Francisco Jewish Film festival (now the Jewish Film Institute), the world’s original and largest Jewish film event serving over 35,000 annually, received grants from Stephen Spielberg’s Righteous Persons Foundation and the NEA to put their unmatched archive online.

In a few short months we digitized 20 years of catalog photos and data, produced a data-driven site to make it public and free, and edited a print edition as well. Not to mention building the annual site, re-networking the office, and automating their film submission procedures.

In our 8 years working with the organization, that was only the first of many firsts. Another was bringing the calendar to mobile devices - in 2002. Another was building a complete and automated operations database, which integrated both with the annual festival site and the online archive.

The SFJFF went on to license that operations system to the Hawaii International Film Festival as well.

A Webzine for the San Francisco Film Community

The SF Film Society looked to Linking Arts for both design and implementation of an online magazine/blog to connect the wide-ranging communities of filmmakers, fans, exhibitors and the production industry.

We’ve got deep roots in cinema as makers, publicists, festival staff and simply as lovers of movies, so it was a match.

The collaboration between our design team and theirs, our developers and their writers, editors and staff resulted in a high-traffic hub that engaged diverse elements of the independent film community.

Putting together large-scale events is a high-pressure, complex undertaking. Work with the best.

We have spent years working with many types of productions, from single-day workshops to multi-week, multi-city festivals and conferences, even film productions. We will bring all our experience and partnerships to the table for yours.

Have an event? We can help you realize it effectively.
